Drivers of transcriptional variation

The composition of the gut microbiota is impacted by several factors: host age, sex and BMI; dietary habits; drug intake… However, we know very little of how these factors impact transcriptional variation in the microbiota. We will use cohort studies to address the impact of both extrinsic and intrinsic factors in the functionality of the gut microbiota.
