MSc student

My name is Manuel José Sánchez Rumí. I completed my undergraduate studies at the Catholic University of Valencia and obtained my degree in Biotechnology. Currently, I am finishing my master’s degree in Biomedical Biotechnology at the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV). I conducted my undergraduate thesis at the San Alberto Magno Research Center (CITSAM), where I performed a Docking study on a transcription factor related to hepatocellular carcinoma.

I applied to do my master’s thesis in this research group because, after reading the projects they were working on, I became very interested in these lines of research. Both oncology and microbiology were topics that I was passionate about during my undergraduate studies. This research group is allowing me to learn new laboratory techniques in the field of microbiology, as well as strengthen those I already knew, working in a great environment.

I hope that at the end of my internship, this experience will enable me to continue learning new techniques and experiences that will shape me into a competent professional and help me become a better researcher and scientist in the future.

In my free time, I love to relax by reading fantasy and science fiction books, as well as spending time with my family and friends.
