I am a PhD student at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (Italy). I graduated in Biotechnology and obtained my Master's degree in Industrial Biotechnology, both from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. During my internship, I started working with lactic acid bacteria, which allowed me to develop skills in bacterial cultivation, biochemical characterization, and computational analysis.
I chose to pursue a PhD focused on intestinal microbial ecology because I am particularly interested in understanding gut microbes' physiology and the underlying connections between the host and gut microbiota. The project allows me to apply computational methods to biological systems, and it's very inspiring for me to characterize this complex and variable ecosystem.
I joined the Systems Biology of Host-Microbiome Interactions Lab to gain expertise in transcriptomics and metatranscriptomics of gut bacteria. This experience is a valuable opportunity for my personal growth and research development.
In my free time, I love doing sports, especially scuba diving!
