I’ve accepted the challenge of becoming the first computational researcher in the lab. I have a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, both from the University of Zaragoza. During my doctoral studies, I used Bayesian optimization to integrate computational models with experimental data in complex biological systems.
Prior to joining the lab, I worked as a bioinformatician, developing statistical tools to identify genome regions where mutations are more likely to cause disease. In the Lloréns-Rico lab, I will develop metatranscriptomic pipelines to study the gene expression of gut microbiota in health and disease.
I am a lifelong learner, creative scientist, and proactive team player who values collaboration and communication.
Outside of the lab, I love spending time in nature and with good company. I’m also an avid reader, curious traveler, and enthusiastic LEGO builder who enjoys maintaining a balance between an active body and an open mind.
